Dave is currently enrolled in the Master’s program in Counseling Psychology at National University, with an expected graduation of December 2025. He brings a wealth of life and professional experience to the field of mental health. Dave holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. Before transitioning into counseling, he retired as a Police Sergeant after more than 28 years in law enforcement. His career included extensive work in crisis intervention, critical incident response, and tactical operations—both as a team member and instructor. He also collaborated closely with K-9 units and served as an agitator for K-9 training, gaining valuable experience in working with service animals. Mental health advocacy runs in his family; his sister is a licensed LMFT, and his three daughters have been a consistent source of encouragement and support as he follows his calling into this second career.
